So tonight, just after I had turned on Arrested Development, and shut the lights out in preparation to go to bed, I saw something go flying through the air like a cap at graduation.  I thought at first that the kittens may have possibly been playing with something and sent it flying, but after putting my glasses on, I realized it was a freaking bat.  Now, I shouldn’t be afraid of bats, I’ve had my rabies vaccine, and normally I’m that person watching the TV saying, “They don’t actually do that.  They don’t fly into peoples’ hair!”  But what’s the first thing that I do?  I grab my pillow, cover my head and am out of the room, shutting the kittens and my dog inside.  Good move, so selfless.  So, I need help right?  Who is the first person I call?  Oh, my friend that lives 1200 miles away.  He can help right?  Finally, I decided I had to man up and get the little creature out of my room.  First, I made sure I was well covered.  I may be vaccinated, but I really don’t want to get bitten.  I then constructed a net out of two brooms and a garbage bag and caught the little booger mid-flight and then let him go outside.  Not before taking pictures, of course.  So much for sleeping tonight.  I still have the creepy-crawlies because I have NO IDEA how he could have gotten in here in the first place.
Oh, and sorry to the neighbors downstairs for the running around and screaming and slamming doors.  I’ll make you some brownies or something.
